The Johnson Family’s Mission 31 Foundation accomplishes its mission
through the execution of fundraising campaigns designed to provide the
necessary resources to reach its impact goals.
It starts with impact.
In 2019, The Johnson Family’s
Mission 31 Foundation will conduct the following outreach:
The flagship outreach program of the foundation is David’s Locker. David’s Lockers are electronic entertainment lockers and/or mobile carts installed within pediatric hospitals. In 2019, we plan to expand this reach to serve special needs children and their families by installing David’s Lockers in schools throughout the Phoenix community. Each locker houses dozens of electronic devices such as iPads, laptops, portable DVD players, gaming consoles, e-readers, assorted video games and more. Currently, pediatric patients and their families have access to these devices during their stays in the hospital. With our expansion, children at the selected schools will also have access to the items listed above in addition to a refined tehcnology list based on the needs of the children in said-school. The lockers serve as a source of entertainment, a portal for communication and a method of obtaining much-needed diversion and stress relief from the struggles of every day life.
With the success of the foundations fundraising efforts, the foundation plans to install three David’s Lockers in 2019.
The Johnson Family’s Mission 31 Foundation will strive to impact the lives of a minimum of 285,000 individual pediatric patients and special needs children by the end of 2019 or one million individuals, including both pediatric patients and their family members. This number includes the impact of the current David’s Lockers at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Cardon’s Children’s Medical Center. The cost of each of these lockers is based on the specific needs of each facility, but will range between $15,000-$20,000. The foundation will also re-stock the current lockers; the total cost to continue that restock is $1,000 per locker.
DAVID AND MEGHAN’S ROLE
David and Meghan will attend the ribbon-cutting of each David’s Locker and spend time with the patients and/or students and their families in attendance.
