The Johnson Family's Mission 31 Foundation

For the first time since joining the Houston Texans in the offseason, David and Meghan Johnson held their annual Agents of Change fundraising event. While David and his teammates participated virtually, the foundation’s guests gathered at the JW Marriott for evening of entertainment and fundraising. The event served as the launch of the Johnson Family’s Mission 31 Foundation in the Houston market.

In all, over 125 fans and supporters attended the event both in-person and virtually, enjoying a lively pre-event cocktail reception and a world-class dinner at the exquisite JW Marriott in downtown Houston. Exciting silent and live auctions highlighted the evening’s festivities, as guests bid on dozens of high-end items and experiences. By the end of the event, more than $206,000 had been raised in benefit of the Foundation’s outreach programs. This includes sponsorship/ticket sales and a $10,000 pledge by David and Meghan themselves.

Founded in 2017, the mission of the Johnson Family’s Mission 31 Foundation is to provide opportunities, support, and resources to seriously ill children and their families by offering daily support and life changing experiences. This includes the foundation’s signature program, David’s Lockers. David’s Lockers are electronic entertainment hubs installed within pediatric hospitals that provide patients with access to tablets, laptops, portable DVD players, video games and more. These devices create needed diversion and relaxation for seriously ill children and their family members during extended stays in the hospital. The proceeds raised at Monday’s Agents of Change event will fund the launch of the first David’s Locker in Houston. You can view photos from the event here.
